David is local from Birmingham. He was awarded a First Degree in Chemistry in 2018 prior to joining this group. Spending a year in DuPont Teijin Film as placement student, David developed an extensive set of skills in formulation for surface coating, as well knowledge about north east England. 

During his time at DTF, David was convinced that an industrial R&D career is rather appealing, and hence decided to take on the project, funded by Innospec, to develop new fuel additives using nanotribological approaches that our group is good at. Despite the current agenda of shifting towards electrical vehicle, combustion engine remains a major power supply for the next decade. David’s project will contribute towards an energy efficient and sustainable economy.
